Chris Metzger, Richard F. Etner Jr., Christopher Thomson and Matthew G. McAllister Represented the Long Island-Based Mover in its First Venture into the Florida Market

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL, March 2, 2017 — Cushman & Wakefield announced today that it has negotiated a 20,253-square-foot industrial lease with Liberty Moving & Storage at 1280 South Powerline Road.

Executive Director Chris Metzger, Executive Director Richard F. Etner Jr., Executive Director Christopher Thomson, and Director Matthew G. McAllister represented building owner Bristol Group, a San Francisco-based investor and developer, in the transaction.

1280 South Powerline Road is a 20,253-square-foot warehouse and distribution center built in 1989 and renovated in 2013, when Bristol Group purchased the asset. The asset is part of a three-building complex totaling just over 74,000 square feet and features ESFR (Early Suppression, Fast Response) fire safety system, secured exterior storage, 30-foot clear heights, three-dock high doors, one ramp, abundant parking and new T–5 lighting. All three buildings are now 100 percent leased.

The building’s location on South Powerline Road offers immediate access to Interstate 95, Florida’s Turnpike and the Sawgrass Expressway.

Long Island-based Liberty Moving & Storage is a leading agent for United Van Lines, providing moving and storage solutions for residential and commercial clients. The company was founded in 1939, employs over 350 people and has assembled a 100-truck fleet. This is the company’s first foray into the Florida market. Liberty Moving & Storage will move into 1280 South Powerline Road later this month and utilize the building as a storage facility and local operations center.

“1280 South Powerline Road is a great fit for Liberty Moving & Storage’s unique needs as it enters the market,” said Metzger. “The building’s location between Florida’s Turnpike and Interstate 95 offers the firm exceptional access to all of South Florida, which has witnessed significant population growth in recent years.”
