Julia Silva Rettig, Jessica Mizrahi and Mike Davis Represented SLV Lighting as the German Firm Tripled the Size of Its North American Warehouse and Distribution Center in Tampa

TAMPA, FL, April 6, 2017Cushman & Wakefield announced today that it has negotiated a 51,386-square-foot relocation and expansion lease for SLV Lighting at 5022 Joanne Kearney Boulevard in EastGroup Properties’ Madison Distribution Center.

The industrial brokerage team of Director Julia Silva Rettig, Associate Jessica Mizrahi and Executive Managing Director Mike Davis represented SLV Lighting in its move from 5731 Benjamin Center Drive, where it had occupied 17,000 square feet.

SLV Lighting markets interior and exterior lighting systems for residential and commercial use. The German company was founded in 1979 and operates subsidiaries in Europe, Asia and North America. Tampa is the lone North American location, serving as a warehouse and distribution center.

5022 Joanne Kearney Boulevard is one of three speculative buildings developed by Jackson, MS-based EastGroup Properties at Madison Distribution Center. The rear-load building features 24-foot clear heights, 40-foot by 50-foot column spacing, concrete tilt-wall construction with glass office fronts, Early Suppression Fast Response (ESFR) fire safety systems, landscaped entrances, and 6,500-square-foot bays with three docks per bay. The building’s location in Tampa’s Eastside/Central South submarket provides exceptional access to Interstate 75, Interstate 4 and the Port of Tampa.

“In Germany, 98 percent of our products are available in our efficient logistics center and warehouse, which make short delivery times possible to support our customers,” said Keith Hall, SLV Lighting’s CEO, North America. “With our new facilities, SLV North America, will quickly improve our current logistics to ensure our professional lighting solutions are received by our customers within 24-48 hours. Currently, we maintain our highest-volume products, stocked in Tampa, and the balance brought in from Germany. This will soon change, as the plan is to add more products in stock every day.”

“SLV Lighting is one of Europe’s fastest-growing and most successful lighting companies,” added Silva Rettig. “This space offered the company the unique opportunity to accommodate that growth in a state-of-the-art building matching its logistical needs.”

SLV Lighting has also retained the Cushman & Wakefield team to market a 15-acre site at 6101 Johns Road in Tampa’s Airport submarket.
