The Parent Company of Kaplan University Houses its Corporate Headquarters and South Florida Operations in Two Class A Buildings on the Cypress Creek Concourse Campus
Spearheaded by Executive Managing Director Jeffrey P. Samaras, the Cushman & Wakefield office brokerage team overseeing this project includes Executive Managing Director Kent Ilhardt, Executive Director Jeff Holding, Vice Chairman Franklin Speyer, Vice Chairman and Midtown Manhattan Managing Principal Lou D’Avanzo, Associate Ryan Harder, Senior Transaction Manager Christina Fiedler and Senior Director A.J. Belt representing Kaplan, Inc. in securing the long-term renewal. Executive Vice President Richard M. Gatto of The Alter Group represented the landlord.
Members of the Cushman & Wakefield team also negotiated Kaplan’s original lease in 2004.
Kaplan, Inc. is headquartered in two Class A buildings at 1515 and 1525 Cypress Creek Road in Cypress Creek Concourse. The buildings house Kaplan’s corporate offices as well as management, administrative and support facilities for Kaplan’s Higher and Professional Education group.
Cypress Creek Concourse was developed in 2002 on a 45-acre parcel in the Cypress Creek submarket. Its two, four-story Class A office buildings are accompanied by private parking garages and an additional 150,000 square feet of speculative office space. The park’s location in Broward County is easily accessible from both Palm Beach and Miami-Dade Counties.
“Cypress Creek Concourse remains the best alternative for Kaplan’s continued long-term occupancy in this market,” said Samaras. “This transaction represents the largest office lease executed in Broward County since 2015.”
Added Holding, “The park is very well positioned for this use. The buildings offer large, efficient floor plates; a campus-like setting; a full cafeteria; full-building back-up generators; abundant parking; exceptional exposure along Cypress Creek Boulevard and ease of access via Interstate 95.”
